Challenges and opportunities for circular economy innovation

Abstract

Circular economy innovation requires to understand the interlinkages of a wide variety of issues concerning the strategic management, the operational decision making and the implementation processes within the framework of scarce resources, volatile prices and a high degree of uncertainty. This practice-oriented paper aims to highlight key challenges and opportunities in this context that can help companies improve performance and enhance their contribution towards sustainability. At the management level, the publication reviews the understanding for the scope of circular economy innovation, the approach towards it, the possibilities for collaboration and the various new business models.
