Research on Teacher Resilience in Bulgaria: Challenges, Findings, Implications

| dc.description | In an era of intense communication, rapid scientific advance and societal transformations, teachers are faced with challenges putting their resilience to test. Teacher resilience (TR) has become a topical issue over the last two decades with theoretical and empirical studies focused on different facets of this phenomenon with the aim of contributing to teacher well-being and retention, as well as of coping successfully with teacher attrition, burnout and stress. There is paucity in the research on teacher resilience at a national level and very few studies on TR in the sector of higher education. Therefore, by surveying the resilience of the Bulgarian university lecturers from 11 HEIs and using a sample of 582 respondents the author makes an attempt to fill this gap. Highlighting the initial findings of the survey provides for the achievement of this goal, as well as for presenting implications of а universal character. | en |
